چکیده
ObjectivesTo provide perspectives from the HEAT-SHIELD project (www.heat-shield.eu): a multi-national, inter-sectoral, and cross-disciplinary initiative, incorporating twenty European research institutions, as well occupational health industrial partners, on solutions to combat negative productivity effects caused by working warmer world.MethodsIn this invited review, we focus theoretical methodological advancements developed heat stress during last five years of operation.ResultsWe outline how created climate forecast models incorporate humidity, wind solar radiation traditional temperature-based projections, providing basis for timely, policy-relevant, industry-specific individualized information. Further, summarise guidelines regarding technical biophysical cooling considering effectiveness, cost, sustainability, practical implementation potential in outdoor indoor settings, addition field-testing selected with time-motion analyses evaluations. All recommendations were adjusted following feedback workshops employers, employees, safety officers, adjacent stakeholders such local or national policy makers. The cross-scientific approach was also used policy-relevant information based socioeconomic identification vulnerable regions considered be more relevant political actions than average continental interventions.DiscussionFrom experiences within discuss inter-sectoral may adopted translated into actionable knowledge across continents where workers societies are affected escalating environmental temperatures.

Occupational heat stress assessment by the Predicted Heat Strain model.
The work of the main European research teams in the field of thermal factors was coordinated in order to improve significantly the Required Sweat Rate model published as an international standard. Many significant modifications were brought, in particular concerning the effects of forced convection, body movements and exercise and the prediction of the skin temperature as a function of the rect...
متن کاملOccupational Heat Stress and Kidney Health: From Farms to Factories
Millions of workers around the world are exposed to high temperatures, intense physical activity, and lax labor practices that do not allow for sufficient rehydration breaks. The extent and consequences of heat exposure in different occupational settings, countries, and cultural contexts is not well studied. We conducted an in-depth review to examine the known effects of occupational heat stres...

Occupational heat stress in Australian workplaces
The aim of this review was to summarize the current state of knowledge on heat stress risk within typical Australian occupational settings. We assessed identified occupations (mining, agriculture, construction, emergency services) for heat production and heat loss potential, and resultant levels of physiological heat strain. A total of 29 reports were identified that assessed in-situ work setti...
